These crates make great instant Little Veggie Patches for the budget conscious. They are also great for Schools, Kindergartens and Child Care Centers looking to start up a Kitchen Garden.

There is no major construction required. Upon arrival of your ‘Little Veggie Crate’ all you have to do is fill the crate by first laying it with straw, then topping it up with a good quality organic compost and presto!….you have an Instant No Dig Garden. Each crate comes lined with tough plastic to stop your ingredients seeping out.

FAQ’s

Are the little veggie crates treated?
The little veggie crate are NOT treated. They are constructed from non-treated pine, built to the food industry standard. They have lived past lives carrying and storing apples.

How long will the little veggie crate last?
Up to 5 years and longer. The rigid plastic lining on the inside of the crate will protect the timber from premature deterioration and layering your garden in a no-dig method will lesson the strain on the structure.

What sort of access is required for crate installation?
The crates are delivered empty and filled and planted on site, so we negotiate them in position on their sides – the crates are 73cm wide. A standard side access, wide enough to fit a wheelbarrow, is sufficient.

What typically gets planted out in the Planted Crate option?
We plant what is seasonal, including a large selection of herbs. We are always happy to source your favourites as well.
