The Giant Single grows up to 2m tall and produces huge sunflower heads of bright yellow petals. Despite its name it can produce multiple flower heads per plant, though the others are much smaller. It is ideal as a bee attracting border, and to provide a wind break and much needed shade for some of your summer crops. It also produces good yields of high quality sunflower seeds for snacking

Soil: Sunflowers will grow in most soil types, but will prefer well drained soil that is prepared with compost

Soil pH Level: 6.5 - 7.5

Position: Full sun, with protection from wind. Sunflowers are tall plants that will cast a shadow, so position accordingly.

Spacing: 20cm - 30cm

Depth: 1cm - 3cm

Companion Plants: Cucumber, Melon, Squash & Sweetcorn
