PRODUCT DETAILS
New Zealand Red garlic is a hardneck garlic variety that is native to New Zealand. The bulbs are medium to large in size and have a slightly flattened shape. The outer skin of the bulb is white with purple stripes/splotches, while the inner cloves are a rich, deep red colour. The bulb is typically made up of 8-12 large cloves, making it easy to peel and use in cooking.
It is not as hot as some of the other hardneck garlic varieties, such as Spanish Roja, but it still has a pleasant spiciness that adds depth to dishes. It stores well and can last for up to 6-8 months in proper storage conditions. It should be stored in a cool, dry place with good ventilation to prevent moisture buildup.
Plant time: February - June.
